Snugly stylish sweaters are the most wanted items in a wardrobe. Without them, you may as well spend the winter in bed. That’s why I dream not of sparkly jewels or wads of cash but of owning an army of grannies who send me a steady supply of gorgeous handmade knits from November through March.

 absolutely love all the vintage patterns, like from 19th century, and traditional ones – They are a great source of inspiration and show how many different things you can to with a skein of yarn and needles.

In addition to her meticulously stitched graphics are sculptural works that blend art and fashion. “I think of the designs as objects, not clothes, because my background is in design, not fashion,” says Toth who layers organic forms, like leaves in her Eva Bolera, or waves in her Capeline Pauline, to build irregular shapes and volumes.

My friend Em said that this Albers cowl is “how Lolly got her [knitting] groove back”… and she is right.  Not that I totally lost it, but my knitting production has been a little slow.  This project’s simplicity, modern design elements, and history was the perfect match for my desire to stash bust some of my fingering weight yarns.  It really appealed to me, and it was such a great knit – can’t wait to make more!

Designed to fit into the section titled “A House With Gables” theme (for the projects’ ornate embellishments), I LOVED creating the Handwork Mitts design. Not only do these mitts include a feminine picot bind-off, but they feature a simple but effective lace cuff as well.

I have still been playing around with shrug and shawl ideas for the summer. The top design is a basic shrug shape that will keep that summer evening breeze off your shoulders. The bottom scarf has been designed with a loop to allow you to wear it how ever you want, which makes it perfect for all year round. Either tie it round loosely for the summer or wrap around snug for the winter.

It’s your best friend and you know how much she means to you. Now that her birthday is approaching, you are clueless of what to gift. Can it be a pouch bag, an ornament, a box of cosmetics, a perfume, a lipstick from her favorite brand or a hand bag? Oh you just got so confused, that you even asked your little sister to recommend on some gift ideas; and then this little child comes with an idea.

Trying to remember now what is that moved me to design this... Winters in Japan are pretty mild, just cold, dry and sometimes windy and rainy, not much snow where we reside. Mix of grey skies during the day and if we are lucky enough - a pretty sunset over the mountains.

I love a good cup of tea and it's even better kept warm in a pot with a dashing tea cosy - you can even make knitted cupcakes too, perfect if you're not so hot at baking!

Wire Mesh Bracelet. Black hand knit wire featuring swarovski and czech crystals in deep purple ab, freshwater pearls and gold toned beads.  This hand knit wire cuff is delicate, yet bold. I take about 12-15 different KINDS of pearls and crystals mix them all around and string them onto the wire.
