Handmade Felt "My love for felt began many years ago at a time when I worked in North Wales looking after a flock of local sheep. New Zealand Maoris were employed every spring to shear the sheep. By the time they had left, the barn next to our house was overflowing with huge lovely fleeces..."
Crafting for the little oneThis weekend was devoted to Netflix and crafting...perfect combo if you ask me! I whipped up a set of felt blocks (inspired by Janine) which pretty much give away the little ones name! He is going to be named after his dad, which was actually my decision. I absolutely love the name Vijay...it is a nod to his Indian roots, yet easy to pronounce for his future teachers and friends.
ANYONE FOR SCARVES??
I have quite a few orders so I'm not sure how many more I will get to make before the Christmas rush!!!!!!!

I realise Christmas seems such a long way off but I have noticed in our local garden centre that shelves are being adjusted to accommodate christmas ornaments, etc. I even noticed in Marks and Spencers today that they have sweet mince pies lining their shelves. I was so tempted to buy some but I know they won't last five minutes in our cupboard!!!

Her first bag was made from a simple pattern, but she immediately began to innovate. Soon, her unusual creations attracted the attention of customers in the Baltimore knit shop (Woolworks) where she worked (like so many of us) to support her knitting habit.
Make Alpaca Wool Sweater into Felted handmade Bag tutorialToday's little craft project is turning this Goodwill purchased alpaca sweater into a lovely rose covered bag.  Since I spent the weekend cleaning out the camel house I figured I deserved something beautiful and not smelling like poo!
this bright yellow felt brooch won't wiltThis bright felt black-eyed susan brooch is a perfect way to carry summer cheer all through fall and winter.  At three inches across, it's big enough to make a statement.  And the shiny black faceted glass button in the center adds a bit of punch.  I like the contrast of its almost formal bearing against the more casual looking yellow felt.

Wear it like you want - scarf or hip wrap...
