MakeBabyStuff As a "craft at home mama" I experiment with everything from sewing to woodworking...and I still haven't met a craft that I didn't enjoy. Lately, my son and I are filling our days reading vintage children's books, taking long walks under the warm California sun and making blueberry pancakes. My nights are spent crafting, crafting, crafting with my two fat black cats by my side.
Ombre ruffled dress for little girlsOh, the ruffles that are going on right now at See Kate Sew!  Kirstin & Jordan from Kojo Designs guest blog in the Ruffles 2012 series with a tutorial showing how to make their Rows of Ruffles dress for little girls.  You’ll need to use your own pattern for constructing the dress itself, but they show how to add the rows of ruffles to the skirt.  I’m loving the ombre effect they created on the dress they made!
how I sew corsets This corset is made with coutil, my favorite fabric for corset making, I do feel that is is superior to everything else that I have tried, but that is just my opinion. Two layers of coutil, one fashion layers of obnoxious satin fabric.
Sewing: Rainbow Wrap Skirt I think the color spectrum looks even better with some white to set it off so I designed this wrap-around skirt with a white waistband and a wide white sash almost as long as the skirt. It's fully lined, so the inside is pretty too, and it's a fairly easy sewing project. Best of all, the instructions would work for any sized girl. Rainbow skirts for everyone! Hello summer!
RED Boreal SweaterWould you not love to wear this stunning RED Boreal Sweater on Christmas day or any of her FAB outfits? Sweet Southern ApronMy apron is created and handmade with love for my dear wonderful friend Miss Ginny. When I was told that I was making my apron for her I was SOOOO HAPPY! I just adore Ginny and we both love the same looks and style so I just knew she would be so much fun to create for.
Fancy Up a Necktie with AppliqueDon’t you just love the necktie section of the thrift store? The one I frequent most is always full of a fun mix of throwback patterns, cheesy characters, and some more modern designs. It’s those throwback ties that really speak to me, and sometimes I can’t resist snagging a couple, even if I don’t know what I’m planning to do with it.
Handmade flowersOh I how love browsing Anthropologie.com and their fabulous jewelry section!
My search for cute flowers was a failure so I decided to take matters into my own hands--handmake them!!!
So here is the first experiment:  black organza flowers sewn on to black nylon cord.

«Hello, My Friend!»One of Gabe's favorite toys are his big blocks so I saw this fabric on another blog(which I'm going to search for and post) and ordered some right away to make him a bag for his birthday. It's super big and the fabric is just perfect-a great weight and texture. I made the bottom and top band with some yellow twill and added grommets to pull it shut and carry it. He should be able to carry quite a few blocks (or toys) with it!
